Sclipo is designed to help educators improve what they do. The site provides valuable resources that provide information and tips on teaching online and offline. Educators can publish, manage and teach online courses in a face to face environment. They can also store and share vital educational content in their own online resource library. Sclipo groups are also available to allow users to connect and obtain information and suggestions from one another. Users can also lead live classes, meetings and webinars intended for an audience of one hundred or more online. Sclipo provides educators with ways to improve their abilities, reach out to more students, and make helpful learning resources more accessible through the internet.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Sclipo is currently in beta, but promises to offer many great features and tools for educators all over the world. The site was designed to become a social network based around learning. Through Sclipo, teachers could access tools to reach out to others. The community atmosphere makes it easier to share ideas, suggestions or common interests. Sclipo looks promising, although what will change after it comes out of beta remains to be seen.

The Sclipo website offers a fun, friendly atmosphere complimented by stylish cartoon images and colorful icons. Users can easily navigate the site and access all the tools available. The logical layout will reduce the amount of time an educator needs to learn Sclipo, which can translate into more time teaching and perfecting what they do. Users can quickly mange their courses, work with students through live teaching, form their own online library or join a group and expand their capabilities dramatically through the online class room.

How does the registration process work?

A new visitor to the Sclipo website can find the registration form along the right hand side of the homepage. The form is kept brief, asking for an email address, password, first and last name, gender, and date of birth. After checking the terms of use agreement box, the user can click the orange “Join” button at the bottom of the form to complete registration. After submitting the information, the user is asked to perform a security check (entering words into a text box). They are taken to their My Web Academy page and can begin creating lessons and libraries. A blue Facebook connect button is also available for users who prefer to sign in using their existing Facebook profile.

What does it cost to use the application?

Social networks often do much better by offering a free membership to all users. Sclipo is no different. Anyone can join the community for free. There are no set up fees or subscription payments required. All the user has to do is spend a minute creating their Sclipo account to access all available features on the site.
